Dickie Marie Allen Hulsey,
Dickie Marie attended Sacred Heart grade school in Gallipolis, Ohio.
Attended the Convent of Franciscan of Charity after high school. Left the convent and was a student at St. Mary of the Springs Columbus, Ohio. Received B. A. English and Theology.
Married and divorced Bob Richardson, father of my children, Mark, Clay and Robanne. Second mariage to Bob Hulsey, an attorney at the Ciy of Roswell.
I enjoy artistic painting and collecting small chairs that are replicas of other countries and times.

Mary Virginia Annie,
Mary Annie attended Central Grade School and St. Francis of Assisi grade schools in St. Albans.
Mary Annie attended St. Mary's School of Nursing, Huntington, W. Va., the Air Force Institute of Technology and Indiana University where she obtained a BS Degree in Nursing. Also attended the Air Force, Squadron Officers School, Recruiting School and Flight Nurse School. Worked as a Medical Nurse for four years, a Mental Health Nurse, Nurse Recruiter and Coordinator for Mental Health Units. Assignments include working at Lackland and Brooks Air Force Base in Texas, Maxwell AFB, Alabama, Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio and Eglin AFB, Florida along with a tour in Vietnam. Worked on many areas including medical, orthopedic, pediatric, recruiting and mental health. Was a member of a special team caring for returning Vietnam prisoners of war. Retired as a Major in 1986.
Single. Took care of parents. Father died in 1989. Mom had a stroke in 1995 and developed a dementia which worsened as time passed. I had the privilege of taking care of her until the Lord called her to heaven in October of 2008. She was a joy to take care of, loved everyone, always joyful, very saintly; my little angel. My sister, Charlotte lives in St. Albans works for a law firm and another sister Theresa is a nurse and lives in Ga.. My brother John, an engineer, is married and lives in S. Charleston.
I love animals. I have two dogs, Joey Bear and Socks and three wild cats, Tommy Boy, Buddy and Peables who have adopted me. I enjoy traveling. I've been to the holy land, Ireland, Virgin Islands, Japan, Bangkok and Medjugorje in Bosnia-Herzegovina. I am also involved in parish ministry as a sacristan and sing in the choir.
Tomas Aubrey,
Tom attended St. Anthony's grade school.
Tom graduated in 1964 from Morris Harvey College with a BA in History. He served two years with the U.S. Army and was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantry award and the Vietnamese Campaign Metal. Tom's children are Joseph, Brent and Brandon Aubry and Tom currently lives in Charleston.
Tom is a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks Club and is active in community affairs.

Tom attended Sacred Heart grade school.
Attended West Virginia State College. Worked as a Senior Lab Technician with Union Carbide/Dow Chemicals. Retired with 41 1/2 years service.
We have four children, John II, Lee Ann Dent, Susan Medley and Deborah Hassig. Proud "Gramps" to nine grandchildren, the oldest born in July 1995 and the youngest in December 2008.
I enjoy everything relating to family and friends. I enjoy camping and fishing. I like to garden and stay busy working around the house and yard. I also enjoy working on our class reunions.

Mary Margaret Barratt (Sweigart),
Mary Margaret attended St. Anthony's and Sacred Heart grade schools.
Business School - Secretary for the Inspector General of the Marine Corps; worked for the Government at Ft. Meade, Md; Styline Corporation in Indiana, United Van Lines in Florida and for other companies. Completed my working career as Executive Assistant to the City Commissioners of West Palm Beach, FL and was presented a "Key to the City" upon retiring after 17 years.
Married for 48 years to Wade, a former Marine. We're lived in various places, including Maryland, Virginia and Hawaii. He retired from IBM after a career that took us to Maryland, Indiana and Florida. We had three children, but lost our daughter to Cystic Fibrosis when she was 10. We have a son in Indiana and a son in Florida and are blessed with two beautiful granddaughters. And, as many of you know God has blessed me with a wonderful sister.
I enjoy my family and traveling. I've been from the east coast to the west coast and Mexico and on many cruises; Alaska, Hawaii, the Greek Isles, Panama Canal and many times to the eastern and western carribbean. I enjoy the beach and Theme Parks (Disney World, Universal and Sea World) and I love to read. Life is good!
Ruth Barratt (Bond)
Obtained a BA from Shepherd College in 1963 and graduated from Bowie State College in 1978 with a MEd in Elementary Administration and Supervision. I taught in the Prince Georges County School System for 40 years and retired in 2004. I taught at the Elementary School level and was a cooperating teacher for American University a Catholic University, and Bowie State University. I feel that I helped young teachers master their trade so they could be successful in their teaching careers.
Divorced with two children and two Grand children. Live in DeLand, Florida.
Love to travel, read, play bridge and spending time with family. I loved teaching and enjoyed working with children. My children live in upstate New York and in the Washington D.C. area. They have been great kids who have made my life interesting.
Helen Ann Belich (Lynch)
Helen attended Sacred Heart Grade School.
MS in Urban Affairs and Public Policy Analysis; MS in Special Education; plus more hours of this 'n' that I can ever remember. I'm officially retired after 27 years from the St. Louis Public School District but am still working in education at a college prep charter high school. (You know -- the type of schools for which the Republicans want to issue vouchers.)
Married to Jack (a local St. Louis guy) for as many years as there's been a Super Bowl. That's how we never forget the actual number of years because we celebrated our 1st anniversary watching the Packers and Chiefs freeze on that very cold January day in Green Bay (of course it wasn't called the Super Bowl that year). We have two sons, Tim and John, and daughter, Molly. The boys have been productive and we have four grandsons. Thank goodness we don't have as many as Gloria and Adrian -- I'd never remember all the birthdays!
I enjoy skydiving, singing, weight training, and like Bob (Marchal), working the stock market. I’m an active sitting trustee on the Public School Pension Fund. Talk about fun -- it's a billion dollar plus fund! Although I’ve lived mostly in St. Louis since graduation (except for a brief 3 yrs in Atlanta), my lifelong ambition was to visit as many places as possible that Mrs. Gainer introduced us to in 5th grade geography. Fortunately, due to Jack’s career in international sales, I’ve been to all continents except Antarctica (but it’s still on my List of Things to do before I die), and to 53 of the U.N.’s 192 countries including some countries “not on the beaten path” such as Latvia, Wales, Taiwan, Croatia (my heritage), Slovakia, and Tasmania, which is officially an Australian state. Add to that having visited ALL 50 of the United States of America --- I feel well-traveled.

Jack R. Bossie
Jack has owned and managed Bossie Electric an Electrical & Construction Company, since 1973 and is now retired and enjoying life.
Jack spent three years in the Army from 1960 to 1963, achieving the rank of Seargent. Jack played Football for the 16th. Battalion and was selected to play on the Army's Special Forces Team.
Jack married Carolyn Frame in 1960. He has been a private pilot since 1980 and owns a Cesna 172. Jack says, "I enjoy hunting, fishing, collecting coins & stamps. Our grandchildren now consume most of our time. We do get to travel some; a cruise to Alaska was one of our most enjoyable cruises."

Graduated with an AB from Wheeling Jesuit University in 1969. Obtained an Master of Arts Degree from West Virginia College Of Graduate Studies in 1974 and a PhD (ABD) from Sam Houston University, Texas in 1980. Probation Officer, Charleston from 1971-76. Instructor, Marshall University; 1976-77. Doctoral Student, Sam Houston University; 1977-80. Grant Writer / Counselor / Journal Editor, Sam Houston University; 1980-84. United States Air Force Family Center Director; 1987-09. I currently teach at the Park University campus at Hill Air Force Base. Park University specializes educational services to enable working adults and military service personnel to earn their college degree.
Married Patricia Craig, NY City 1970-Annulled. Daughter Catherine, two grandchildren. Single, 1975-present residing: Layton Utah; 2000-present.
I am an avid motorcycle enthusiast and am active in St Mary's Jesuit parish.

Dave attended Sacred Heart Grade School.
Dave graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Dayton in 1963. Obtained a Physical Therapy Certificate from Rice University's, Hermann School of Physical Therapy, 1964. Obtained a Master of Science in Public Health from the University of New Mexico in 1971. Entered the Army in 1964 as a Physical Therapist. Had multiple assignments and retired from the Army in 1992. Currently live in Sunset Beach, North Carolina.
Married Becky Slater in 1963. Becky and I have two childred, one in Northern Virginia and one in Pittsburgh. We have four grand children.
Love golf, traveling, Red Cross disaster worker and general parenting.
Barbara Carpenter (Berezansky),
Attended J. E. Robins and then St. Anthony's grade school.
I started out at St. Mary of the Springs College and left to pursue my dream of becoming a flight attendant and to travel, which I enjoyed.
Then, married Alex and raised our two children Alan and Susan, who are both successful, married and parents themselves....Now I have three grandsons, and often travel to baby-sit Alex ten yrs and Joseph seven years, in Michigan, or one year old Hunter in Nevada.
As a second career, became a 911 dispatcher and found self-satisfaction in assisting others for the next ten years. Resigned to care for my mother and bring her into our home.

At present, assist an Eastern Airlines Retirees Association Chapter here in Pennsylvania. (My husband was with Eastern Airlines for 35 years). I still love travel, photography, and a good book.

John Nevins Clancy,
Nevins attended Sacred Heart Grade School.
Nevins attended W. Va. University as an undergraduate and received an AB Degree from Morris Harvey College. He also attended Marshall University Graduate School and W. Va. University Law School.
He worked at the West Virginia State Department of Commerce doing Pubic Relations work. While living in Atlanta Georgia he worked for an athletic company traveling, for a number of years, through out the country in a sales and promotion job in the tennis world. After returning to Charleston he has worked as a Reverse Mortgage Specialist and Loan Originator in reverse mortgages throughout W. Va. and surrounding states.
As an activist Nevins chaired the “Committee to Save and Renovate the Municipal Auditorium”. The City of Charleston wanted to demolish this historic building. After a long battle the Municipal Auditorium stands today. Another City issue was a multi-million dollar project that was totally unnecessary. Councilman Tom Lane (CCHS class of 1960) and Nevins lead the opposition against this City project and again after months of intense effort the City abandoned their position on this expensive and foolish project. Nevins is now involved in a Federal issue concerning HUD/FHA’s excessive insurance fees the reverse mortgage borrowers have to pay. This has and will be a long battle against this Federal Agency.

Nevins has sung with the Charleston Light Opera Guild, WV Symphony, and different church choirs. After playing tennis on the high school and college level he still is actively involved as a player in Charleston. His other activities include: golf, skiing and reading.

John Clark,
John attended sacred heart grade school.
I entered the service in 1959-1962. After the service I started working for Shoney's in 1962 and had a long carrer there. I moved from charleston in 1977 to Ronoke, Virgina to manage a Shoney's restaurant. I moved five more times over the years developing new markets and taking on new chalenges. I retired in 1993 as a Shoney's manager and became a Shoney's franchise owner in Florida where I again retired in 2002. I now live in the Jacksonville, Florida area.
Married Lina Jones in 1962 ( a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School). We have four children (Carrie, John, Gregory, and Dawn) and two lovely grandchildren (Chase and Savannah). We were married for 44 years when Linda passed away in 2006. I have alot of family there, friends, and Shoney people that I worked with that vist often. I still consider Charleston my home.
Robert (Bob) Condry,
Bob attended St. Agnes and Sacred Heart grade Schools.
Graduated 1963 from University of Charleston with an AB Psychology degree . Served two years in US Army 1964-66. Graduated in 1970 from Geoge Washington University with an MBA in Health Care Administration.
Residency in Hospital Admin. at Georgetown University Hospital (1968-70). Hospital Administrator 1970-75 Medical College of Virginia Hospitals, Richmond, Virginia. Chief operating Officer (1975-84) and Chief Executive Officer (1984-93) at Loyola Univ. Medical Center Hospital, Maywood, Illinois. Retired in 1993 and moved to Carmel, California and did some part time hospital consulting between 1994 and 2001.
Married Mary Heinzer (Class 61) in 1966; and we make our current home in Carmel, California, since 1993. We had two children: Mary-Lynch born 1971 and John born 1973. Currently, M-L is married to Michael Tarpey (1998) and they have three children (our wonderful grandchildren!). They make their home in Evanston, Illinois. John is a mortgage banker and is not married. He makes his home in downtown Chicago.

Mary and I enjoy oceanside living in Carmel and take fun hikes around the Peninsula. We have done some high Sierra hikes in Yosemite Nat'l Park and Graeagle, California. We also do camping trips in our camper van (Class B RV) having just recently returned from two weeks along the Oregon coast. We are both docents at the Carmel Mission, our historical and beautiful Basilica founded by Fr. Junipero Serra. On Sundays, Bob is often a Sacristan and Communion minister, and Mary is a Lector and Communion minister. We also give tours of the Monterey Peninsula and Big Sur for various corporate groups. Mary kayaks for NOAA (Nat'l Oceanogaphic and Atmospheric Association) to help protect marine life. I enjoy a round of golf and an occassional tennis match. We both exercise five days a week at the Monterey Sports Center.

Mary Patricia Cook (Lacy),
Mary Pat attended St. Francis and St. Anthony grade schools.
Mary Pat currently lives in Kennesaw, GA. She has a son, who with his wife, currently work in the U S Embassy in Algiers. Mary Pat is also very blessed to have a daughter who with her husband and granddaughter, live only 5 minutes away.
Mary Pat’s Personal interests, activities include reading the bible and spending time with her granddaughter. Mary Pat is also an avid exerciser who often starts the day with a workout designed to promote a healthier life style.

US Army - 1st Lieutenant -'65-'67 Certified Public Accountant - '67-'95 Arthur Young & Co/Ernst & Young - '67-'92 International accounting and financial consulting. Worked with large US and International companies in various locations (Boston, MA, Providence, RI, New York, NY, Paris, France, Los Angeles, CA)- became a senior partner with this firm. Currently employed with Lowe Enterprises, Inc - '95-'09, a multiservice real estate firm as the CFO for the Lowe Destination Hotels & Resorts Division and SVP of HR for the company. Currently a shareholder of the company and a member of senior management.
Married to Janice Vincent; no children; we live in Indian Wells, CA (this is one of the towns in the Palm Springs/Coachella valley area) Over the years have been active in various community activities and non profit organizations. Currently involved with a west side LA group (called Communities in Schools) that works with disadvantaged youth - emphasis is to help them improve their sense of self worth, stay in high school, graduate and go on to college or other activities that allow them to be successful and contribute to their communities. Longer term goal is to establish such an organization in the Coachella valley. Have stayed active physically - run, bike,swim and now attempt 1-2 triathlons a year (certainly don't finish first, but don't embarass my age group either). Janice and I enjoy traveling and will be doing more of this as my work schedule winds down in 2009.
Barbara "Bobbie" Dery (Baldy),
Bobbie attended St. Agnes Grade School.
Attended Morris Harvey College and took classes at Ohio University. Worked as the librarian for Appalachia Educational Laboratory, became a stay at home Mom then taught pre-school for a number of years.
Married Tom Baldy on July 4, 1964. Mother of four, Grandmother of nine (four boys, five girls). Enjoy anytime we get to be with them. Currently live in Charleston, WV.
I love to read, write, sew, entertain family and friends. Enjoy spending time with Tom camping, fishing and working on whatever project we have going. Really enjoy working on our class reunions. Attended grade school in St. Francis and Our Lady of the Mountains Academy in Paintsville, Kentucky.
Undergraduate degree in Busines Administration, W. Va. State, MBA Baldwin Wallace, Cleveland Ohio.
Married to Gloria Lazare and they live in Raleigh, North Carolina. Gloria and Adrian raised four boys and two girls and have 19 grandkids.
Started out as a Carpenter and Machinist while going to night school for 14 years. Career began at Babcock & Wilcox and Nortel Networks, with a 3 1/2 year assignment in China. Became a Director of the Electronics Supply Chain Council, a national speaker on advanced supply chain strategies, for the National Association of Purchasing Managers and a guest speaker at various association chapter dinners. While at JD Edwards and PeopleSoft, Adrian developed a fully automated, internet based, supply chain software, the first of its kind in North America. Adrian is currently retired, play golf and is a "Road to Recovery" volunteer driver taking cancer patients to their treatments. An avid runner having run three Triathlons , 60 10K's, two biathlons and one marathon.
Joseph Donohoe,
Joe went to Sacred Heart Grade School.
Received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Management from Marion College. Career in manufacturing starting with FMC Ordnance and ending with Toyota as VP of Manufacturing and Human Resources.
Married Beverley Aubrey, CCHS Class of 1960. We have raised six children and have nine grandchildren. Joe is currently on the Mayor's advisory board and has been a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years. He also volunteers at the local soup kitchen and often nags his very patient wife on everything.
"We live within 50 miles of all our children and grand children, which makes life great." Joe continues to think he is taller than "the blade". Joe and Bev live in Columbus Indiana and want everyone to know that "VISITORS ARE WELCOME".
William Frame
Retired from Dupont, Belle WV in 2000 after 38 years of service. Part time electrical contractor since then and till the present.
Bill married Patty Hubbard in 1964 and they reside in South Charleston. Bill and Patty have two children. A son who lives in South Carolinia, who is married and has two daughters. Bill and Patty's daughter is also married and has a son and a daughter and lives in North Carolinia.
Bill hopes to retire in earnest (completely) very soon. "If only I could get to a stopping point." Bill likes to do volunteer work, such as church maintance, improvements and Habitat For Humanity. Bill is a member of Civitan Club. Loves to travel and makes a lot of those trips to see the children and grandchildren

After CCHS, I graduated from West Virginia University in 1963. I spent a year wasting my father's money in graduate school. In August 1965 I joined the Army. After basic and A.I.T. They sent me to the pentagon. As my colonel said " Frerotte you were never in the Army." After I got out I went to work in retail. I started with Montgomery Ward and for the last 26 years I worked at Boscov's Department Store out of Reading PA. Retired December 2003. FYI Boscovs is a family owned Department Store. When I joined they had six stores. I managed stores in Reading, Lebanon and Harrisburg PA.
I Married Mary Kristine Wampler in 1976. Mary was born in Nitro and her Mom and Dad graduated from Charleston Catholic. I first met her in Washington D.C. in 1974. What a small and strange world. We have a son, Logan who was born in 1980 and Cecilia who was born in 1982. Logan is a probation officer in Harrisburg and Cecilia is a CPA and lives in Boston.
My hobbies are gardening and painting pictures. My paintings are impressionistic. That means my hand shakes too much to pain a straight line. I am a die hard MOUNTAINEER FAN and wear blue and gold all the time. Being a Mountaineer fan is great these days. Very few high school classes have websites or even try to keep up with their classmates.

Attended Tulane and W.Va. State. Graduated Morris Harvey in Jan. 1963 (BA History). Indiana University Scool of Social Work (MSW June 1966. Taught 8th grade English - Ravenswood. Started Social Work in Jackson Co. 1963. Was a Social Worker for 38 years in a variety of roles and positions including Asst. Professor at Marshal University. Retired 3/05.
Married Patricia A. Bryant (nee Nuhfer) 3/28/05. Have three children living, one deceased from previous marriages. Also have three stepsons and five step grandchildren. Patti and I have been living on the road in our motor home since our marriage. We have spent the past three winters on Dauphin Island Alabama and usually spend the other months visiting family and friends. Our travels have ranged from Cape Cod to Arizona and Michigan to the Gulf Coast. We plan to travel to the 50th Reunion in our coach.
Primarily I am a writer. I have self-published one book of poetry and am struggling to edit the material, pmainly essays on spirituality, for another book. I also am an amateur photographer and avid reader. I also coach soccer, most recently my grandson's team last fall.
Isabelle Hale (Autry),
Isabelle attended Sacred Heart grade school.
I attended St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in Huntington, WV. After graduation I moved to Ohio and worked 38 years for the State of Ohio in many capacities as a nurse. I also worked several part time positions for other agencies. I also help manage Harry's janitorial business and have my own internet travel business. I married Harry Autry in 1963. We have three children, Curtis, Karla and Karen. We also have five grand children, Craig, Kara, Kierstin, Kylea and Caleb and we all live in Columbus, Ohio.
Since partial retirement I love to travel, make gemstone jewlery and try my hand at cooking, I love making poundcakes
John Hotopp,
John went to Sacred Heart grade school.
BA Morris Harvey College 1963. Taught at Morris Harvey while completing an MA degree at Marshall University in 1968. The next year I started working on a Ph.D at The University of Iowa majoring in archaeology and sociology which I completed in 1978. During my time in Iowa I was the assistant State Archaeologist specializing in transportation archaeology. After a brief stint at the Smithsonian Institution I joined The Louis Berger Group, Inc. a worldwide consulting firm headquartered in New Jersey in 1981. For the last 28 years I have managed the Cultural Resource Division which works all over the US with some overseas work. I am currently a Senior Vice President with the company.
I have experimented with marriage a couple of times. While I was in Iowa I was married for 7 years and while in New Jersey I tried it again for 16 years. At present I split my time between the family home in Charleston, West Virginia, Morristown and my offices across the country. I have become reacquainted with an old girlfriend from college days and we are enjoying various activities together.
Wood and metal working which translates into putting an addition on the family home which I own with my brother who is a dyed in the wool New Yorker.

Francyne attended Sacred Heart Grade School.
Dr. Francine E. Jefferson is a Telecommunications Policy Analyst for the National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s (NTIA) Broadband Technology Opportunities Program in the U.S. Department of Commerce. She was evaluation specialist for NTIA’s Technology Opportunities Program (TOP), a program officer for information and communications demonstration projects and consumer education manager for NTIA’s DTV Transition Converter Box Coupon Program. For over 13 years she has been engaged in outreach to public and non-profit entities promoting the effective use of telecommunications and information technologies to better provide public services and advance other national goals. Jefferson is NTIA’s liaison to Minority Serving Institutions and Faith-Based and Community Initiatives.
Dr. Jefferson came to NTIA from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania. While at Cheyney she served as Director of Sponsored Programs, Assistant to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dean of Graduate and External Programs. She has been an advocate for the application of information and communications technologies to improve the infrastructure of Historically Black Colleges and Universities for many years. She was responsible for the design and implementation of Cheyney’s Telecommunications Center and the Cheyney Education and Research Telecommunications Network (CERTNet); appointed to the City of Philadelphia’s Mayor’s Telecommunications Advisory Committee; and to the Governor’s Link-to-Learn Program Task Force for the State of Pennsylvania. Before coming to Cheyney University she was a senior evaluator with the U.S. General Accounting Office.
Jefferson received her Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Pittsburgh where she was both a Mellon Fellow and a Rockefeller Fellow. If asked “What next?” her reply would be “I’m still trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up,” and–“Tomorrow is my permanent address.” Francine has returned to Wild Wonderful West Virginia and lives on a small farm in Berkely County, West Virginia.

I almost got a MHM in Hospital Management, St. Thomas in Miami; missed it by 2 electives. It was during the race riots in Liberty City and I was commuting at night. Oh Well!
Single-never married; no children; currently sharing a household with a close relative that is divorced and has had no better luck than I in finding a suitable mate. (Ha! Ha!) I am living in Rutherfordton, NC in the foothills near the Great Smokies. It is a rural section with a cattle farm down the street. My parents have moved into the area also. They are in their late 80's and live close by. I have a brother, Paul, who is a missionary priest in Honduras. He is also a graduate of CCHS. 1965? and my sister, Cathy, who still lives in South Charleston, WV. And my little brother, John Daniel (Danny) is in Honduras and is the Administrator of a high school in Sequatepeque. Both of them are graduates of CCHS.
For 15 years, I was a Middle Eastern Ethnic dancer.(Belly Dancer). I taught and performed until an auto accident ruin my (career?). Severe pelvic fracture. I had and rode my own motorcycle from 1985 t0 1994. Those were some of my favorite years. No accidents and no fractures! Over 50,000 safe miles. I sold my bike when we moved to NC. I am now retired, but continue to work Per Diem in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (recovery room for the Operating Room at Rutherford Hospital.)
I am taking piano lessons and singing lessons and have been active in the Rutherford County Arts Council and have performed in the Snow Queen and the Wizard of Oz. I never knew how much fun it could be to perform on stage, especially with over 100 children. I do some writing and take courses at the college level. I have had 2 poems published and am working on a novella for a children's adventure story. I have written several short stories, but haven't published any yet.

Mary attended Dunbar first ward, Dunbar Second Ward and Sacred Heart grade schools.
Bachelor of Science in Education, Post Grad in Statistics and Geography from Rosary Hill College. After I graduated they decided it sounded too much like a girl's school (duh) and renamed it Daeman college - now it's co-ed. My Post - grad work was at Georgia State University.
Recently widowed after 44 years of marriage, have two daughters, one recently married, the other has three children, so I have one grandson and two granddaughters. I work as a supervisory statistician for the US Census Bureau in Atlanta, Ga and live about 50 miles north in Emerson, GA. In my work at the Census Bureau I supervise a field staff in the states of Alabama, Georgia and Florida who collect data that measure changes in the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
Hobbies include quilting and gardening and I'm the sacristan at our church. We have had two exchange students from Poland and keep in touch with their families. We've visited both families and seen the personal side of Poland, France and England. I plan to study in Poland in 2009

After graduating with a degree in Speech from Marquette University, David married Penny Cook (’60). Dave and Penny have four children, Theresa and Lee, (Richmond, VA), Allen (Jacksonville, FL) and Paul David (Athens, GA), and six grandchildren.
Dave was employed as a real estate appraiser for the WV DOT for five years. He then took a job with the C & O Railway’s Real Estate Dept. in Huntington WV. As the C & O evolved to the Chessie System and then to CSX Transportation, they moved with the Corporate offices from Baltimore, MD to Cleveland, OH and then to Richmond, VA.
As Vice President of CSX Realty, Dave retired after 30 years service. To celebrate retirement, they spent six month cruising the Southern Caribbean on their Trawler “PENELOPE”… Fantastic!

Married Sue Buchanan in 1964 and we had 4 daughters, Susan, Jeannie, Sarah, and Louise. They have provided us with seven grandsons. Interests other than family are numismatics and genealogy.

Gloria raised seven kids. Marjorie, Joseph (named after Joe Donohoe), Tom, Adrian Jr., Kristine, Greg and Adrian Sr. Together the kids (Excluding Adrian Sr.) have 19 kids, which means Adrian and Gloria have 19 grandkids.
Gloria is retired having spent some time writing and working as a Real Estate Agent.
Gloria likes to visit the grandkids, play the slots and give her husband a hard time when he deserves it.

After graduation moved to western PA. Married Jack Peebles who was a Sales Manager with Corning Glass. Lived in Corning; Rochester; Hartford. Worked at Cornell University in Personnel Staffing in the mid-1970's. Re-located to San Diego in 1979. Worked in Personnel Staffing at Law Firm. Started my 25 year real estate career in 1984.
Divorced in 1979. Mother of two children: John and Kelly. John, deceased, 2005. I am now a 30-year resident of San Diego.
I love Music, Music, Music. Particularly jazz and cabaret. I also love to travel, particularly to Italy or New York City.

I spent the first 10 years after college - Morris Harvey - working as a chemist for Appalachian Power and AEP. I then went in to pharmaceutical sales from which I retired I in 2002.
I have 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren that live within 5 minutes of my home in Aiken, SC. We are very close. I have lived here since 1973.
I spend my time playing golf, traveling and playing with the grandkids. On Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays I watch the stock market. It’s a hobby. I like doing my own trading. On Wednesdays, Fridays , Saturdays and Sundays I play golf with a regular group. There are usually 8 to 20 players. We have been doing this since the ‘70s. I usually go to the islands in the winter with my brother and/or his wife. It makes the winter go faster. I take 4 to 8 golf trips a year. I have played approx. 30 of the top 50 courses in the US, Ireland and Scotland.

Graduated from W V Business College and attained a degree in Business Machines and Retail Marketing. Owned and managed a Women's Retail Store for several years and was a Buyer for a locally owned Ladies Boutique. Currently manage Empire Fur Salon in Charleston, W V. (I tried Retirement, but got bored after a while,and would rather stay active at least for now.)
Married for 47 years to Mike Albert and have two wonderful Daughters, (Debbie and Angie). We have five grandchildren (Sarah, Drew, Michael, Josh and Emily. Mary Lou and Mike are now great-grandparents to a beautiful little girl, Choloe Noelle Beakes, Sarah's daughter. We currently reside (for the last 30 years) in Riverlake Estates , Saint Albans, W V.

Catherine Mattingly (Doty)
Attended grade school at Sacred Heart. Entered convent at Stella Niagara after high school for short time. Then attained a certificate in Dental Hygiene from West Liberty State College, outside Wheeling, '62. Worked in Charleston area for 5 yrs then to Cincinnati, Ohio for 33 years where I spent the last 19 year in a peridontal speciality office.
Married Mark Doty 1985 and have lived 25 miles north of Cincinnati in Hamilton, Ohio since. I met Mark thru trap shooting. He loves this sport and is very good. I just watch from side mostly.
I like to sew and volunteer at our parish in doing the scheduling for Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors from home. This is very time consuming but I did learn my computer skills and church history/protocal thru this job. I've attended all class reunions with the exception of one. I even attended enjoyed the 50th school reunion in 1977. We had so many "new" classmates attend our 2004 reunion I am really looking forward to our special 50th. as a class!

Judy graduated from Capitol City Commerical College 1960 - 1961 and worked as a Social Security Administrator for 16 1/2 years.

Rosalie "Murray" Richardson,
Rosie attended St. Francis of Assisi grade school in St. Albans, WVa.
After graduation, I married Maurice “Morris” Francis Gatens (class of 1957). Morris and I had four children: Mark James, Kelly Francis, Margaret Colleen and Jennifer Ann. Morris passed away in 1973. Kelly and Jennifer live in Raleigh, North Carolina; Mark lives in Arlington, Texas; and Colleen lives in Hurricane, West Virginia.
In 1976, I married Kin Richardson. We have been happily married for 32 years. I have three step children: Kinny, Stan and Mike from this marriage. Kinny lives in Charleston; Stan lives in Winfield; and Mike lives in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Kin and I have eight beautiful grandchildren (3 boys and 5 girls). Kin and I live in Hurricane, West Virginia.
We recently purchased a Recreational Vehicle and are traveling the country and visiting our children and grandchildren.

I received a BS degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in bio-medical engineering from Marquette University in 1964. Concurrently, while attending the Engineering School, I attended the College of Business Administration, in a combined 5-year program.
I have been self-employed during most of my business career and have founded five technology companies, all in medically related areas. These companies manufactured surgical implants, surgical instruments, and parts for cardiac pacemakers. These companies also provided services for hospital laboratories such as toxicology, and medical software services for emergency d epartments.
My family includes one daughter and her husband, and most importantly two grandsons. I have lived on the North Shore of Chicago in Illinois for the past 30 years. My personal interests and activities are cooking, photography and enjoying my grandsons. I am also interested in providing better health care through the use of technology for the socially and economically disadvantaged, particularly those with chronic diseases, such as high blood pressure and diabetes.

Obtained a BS in chemistry from Wheeling College and a PhD in biochemistry from Cornell University. Don worked as a clinical chemist at the National Institutes of Health, Hahnemann University & Medical School, Eastman Kodak and Johnson & Johnson. Don is currently self-employed as a consultant, specializing in risk management and quality management systems for medical device manufacturers.
Married to Renate Powers for 40 years and currently living near Rochester, NY. We have two married kids - Mike and Heidi, each with one daughter - Reina and Maddie. They straddle the country, with Mike near Ithaca, NY and Heidi near Seattle.
While not visiting with the grandkids, we enjoy travel to interesting places and birding in Chincoteague Island, Va. I also enjoy photography and researching family history with my brothers. Professional activities include writing, lecturing and chairing an ISO technical committee that develops international standards for diagnostic testing.

Orrie is currently an educator at Wasilla High School in Wasilla, Alaska. She also worked in the Peace Corps having lived and worked in Guatemala for two years and was selected for that project because she had spent two summers, while in college, working on the Rosebud Sioux Reservation, since Guate. is predominantly an Indian country ( Mayan groups). "In my, previous life, we traveled all of Central and South America... clear to Tierra del Fuego.. mostly by bus. Some years later, while working in western Alaska on the lower Yukon and Kuskokwim rivers ( Yupik, Eskimo and Athabascan Indians) I attended the Navajo College in Tsaile, Az. during a summer. Another great experience".
I love teaching and learning and have just finished another graduate degree. Married and have two sons, depending on which life. In my previous life I have a son, and current life I have a son. I live in Wasilla, Alaska. (notorious Wasilla, Ak) Wasilla has lately been sprinkled with volcanic ash from Mt. Redoubt.
Love reading; history and anthropology. I am the project Producer of a Storyknife Productions documentary "Unraveling the Wind" that looks at aviation in the Y-K Delta region of Western Alaska and the challenges for those who fly there. If interested please google "Storyknife Productions" and this film asks the question; can traditional knowledge find a place of value in the 21st century? Just finished another graduate degree- only because I would have had to return to working as a speech therapist and that is too boring for me.

BS Chemistry, Wheeling Jesuit University, 1963. Spent a year as a chemist for Union Carbide. Too adventurous for the confines of work, I joined the Peace Corp and spent 2 years as a Volunteer in Liberia, West Africa. Not long after returning to the states, opportunity knocked...and I answered. It was an offer to attend Villanova University grad school. Ended up with a MS (1970) and PhD (1973) in Biochemistry and a wife.
Marianne and I were married half-way through my degree pursuits. Amazingly, I still have my degrees and Marianne and I celebrated our 39th this past Valentine's Day. My first day of real work was 1973 in a hospital laboratory in Central Jersey, where I spent three years. That is, until I saw an ad for a position as a Biochemist at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. We lived there 4 1/2 years. Came back to the states with three kids (Chris, 1975; Adrienne, 1977 and David, 1979)and three trips around! the world. Since returning to the states I have served as a laboratory director for Scripps Immunology Reference Laboratory (LaJolla), Quest Diagnostics (LA, Atlanta and Chantilly, VA) and LabCorp (Raritan, NJ, Herndon, VA and soon - Birmingham, AL). Retirement not in the current plans Marianne and I met working at the same bench in a biochemistry lab at VU. Marianne supported us while I pursued degrees. Our youngest will be 30 this year. Chris is a chemical engineer, living in Philadelphia. Adrienne works for the city of Malibu, CA and has one daughter. David is 7 years deep in the MD/PhD program at Yale.
With no kids at home, Marianne and I live where the job takes us. Right now that is northern VA. But, we've called Atlanta, GA home since 1996. Work with my son Chris, who's side business is buying, renovating and renting houses in Philadelphia. Volunteered Saturdays reading science texts at Reading for the Blind and Dyslexic in LA and DC.

Lowry attended Sacred Heart Grade School.
Lowry also attended West Virginia University, Morris Harvey, and West Virginia Institute of Technology. Graduated in 1965 with an Associate Of Technology Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Countinued on at WVIT from 1965 to 1973 working on his BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering and at the same time Lowry was teaching Machine Shop classes to technology and industrial arts students. Graduated with his BS Degree in 1973. Built and raced Top Fuel Dragsters from 1961 to 1975 thoughout the Eastern US. Worked for Union Carbide Coal Mines from 1973 to 1984 and then Elkem Metals Company at Alloy, WV.
Lowry retired in 2003 and is presently doing steel fabrication work for APEX Pipeline Service and working on Hot Rods with some of his old racing buddies.
Lowry married Carol Jo "Dody" Clark in 1972 and they still live in Charleston. "My present interests are building racing engines for people, machine shop work, and wood working."

Becky graduated from St. Josephs School of Nursing in 1962. Worked as a registered nurse at the Charleston General Hospital and the VA Hospital in Houston, Texas. Worked in real estate for Bob McCullocH who built homes in Lake Havasy, Arixona, Fountain Holls, Arizona and Currituck, North Carolina.
Married Dave Brown in 1963. We have one daughter, one son and four grand childred. Retired to Sunset Beach, NC in 1992.
Becky loves bridge and garden club. Enjoys travel, volunteered for Red Cross Disaster Team and has been a Red Cross Shelter Manager for 10 years. We happen to live in hurricane alley.
Louise "Weezie" Smith (Taggart),
Louise attended St. Agnes grade school.
After CCHS I went to Ursuline Girls College in Louisville for one year and returned home to get my BA in Sociology/Psychology from Morris Harvey College. I have been a social worker for the past 45 years (mostly with the State of FL in foster care) with the exception of the eight years I spent as a Teacher's Aide in an elementary school while my daughter was young. I currently work at Grandma's Place, a shelter group home for foster children in West Palm Beach, FL.
I still live in Palm Beach Gardens in the house we bought in 1973. Married for 10 years but divorced and single for the past 33 years. I have two wonderful children but lost my son at age 3 in a drowning accident. My daughter, Ann, lives an hour away in Ft Lauderdale and I visit her often. She is a domestic engineer and her husband, Chet, is an aviation consultant who travels extensively. My grandsons, Tyler and Ryan (seven and six years old) are delightful and exhausting.
I am actively involved in the Democratic political party and our national employee's union, AFSCME. Whenever possible I get together with my siblings in Alaska, Montana, Florida and South Charleston (Therese never left?!?). I am greatly excited about seeing my '59 classmates!!!
Lester Smoot, Jr.
Lester attended Sacred Heart grade school.
Lester entered the Army in 1965. He graduated from Officer Candidate School in January, 1967. He was a captain serving in Vietnam. Lester received the Army Commendation Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Medal and the Vietnamese Campaign Medal. Obtained a MS from the University of Tampa. I am now retired and living in the state of Florida.
Lester married the former Sylvia Behrent.
I am involved in antiques and collectables. Also participate in eight to ten gun shows a year.
Ralph "Mickey" Stricker,
Mickey went to Sacred Heart grade school.
Attended West Virginia University and West Virginia State College and gained a B. S. in Education. Taught Industrial Arts in Wake County Public Schools in Raleigh, North Carolina. Also taught 14 years at Needham B. Broughton and 16 years at Athens Drive High School. Retired in 1964 and went into the building business doing restorations in historic oakwood in Raleigh, NC and general construction including decks in spec homes in Clayton.
Married Sondra Fuller of Raleigh, NC in 1964. Have two children, Yvette born in 1966 and Michael born in 1968. We currently live in Clayton, NC. We also have four grandchildren, Mark, Brittany, Cole and Cray. I built Yvette and Michael a home in our neighborhood to keep them close by so we can play with our grandchildren. We have a home at Lake Gaston, NC and are in the process of remodeling. We have had it for 25 years and the children and grandchildren have spent the summers there having lots of fun in the sun.
Like to fish, go to baseball, basketball and soccer games with Cole and Cray. I also enjoy hunting with Mark. I recently taught Brittany to fish and she bought her 1st fishing rod. Cost $95. and worth every penny. Sondra and I have done some traveling. We went on two cruisses with the choldren and Sondra's family.

Attented Ursuline College in Louisville, Kentucky for 1 year and transferred to the University of St. Thomas in Houston Texas where I graduated with a BA in Elementary Education. I have been teaching for 24 years at St. Thomas More School in Houston where I am on the administrative staff as well as teach 1st grade. When it is not fun, I plan to retire.
Met my husband John at school and have been happily married for 43 years. We are blessed with 5 beautiful children, Jennifer, John, Allison, Ted, and Tracy. They have in turn given us 14 active, energetic and beautiful grandchildren. They range in age from 17 to 2 years and keep us busy going to swim meets, soccer, baseball, football, basketball games and dance recitals. We still live in Houston and are blessed to have some of them living very close to us. Our youngest daughter Tracy and her husband Paul Galloway (he is from Charleston, W. Va. as well - small world) live in Mississippi with their 2 sons and our first daughter Jennifer and her husband Greg Germani and their 4 children live in Perth, Australia. My husband John is semi-retired, planning on being retired by the end of the year and I'll probably retire in the next couple of years.
We love to travel and read and just keep busy keeping up with family.

Sara Ann Tomlinson (Shipman),
Sara attended St. Anthony grade school.
Sara obtained a Bachelors of Arts degree from Wheeling College (now Wheeling Jesuit University) and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Notre Dame. She is now retired as a Social Studies and English as a Second Language, Teacher
Married to Lee Michael Shipman. Her children are Ann Marie Ryan and John Shipman: Ann Marie Ryan and her husband Thomas Ryan have three children, Madeline (11), Thomas (8) and Abigail. (6). John Shipmans child is Michael (6).
She enjoys golf, travel and is a member of the Irish-American Club, Notre Dame Club and Prayer Shawl Ministry. She also enjoys ceili dancing and takiing Italian lessons. Ceili dancing is Irish folk dancing. We have several native Irish ladies here in our community and they share their dancing with us. We have become very interested in Irish music as well. Mike has Irish ancestors and I have found out that my father’s grandfather was from Ireland.

Mike received a B. S. Degree from West Virginia University in 1965. Joined the US Army, flew helicopters in Vietnam and attained rank of Captain. He served three years with the Army and was a Captain at the U.S. Army Primary . While on active duty, he was the recipient of many medals among them the Distinguished Flying Cross with three oak leaf clusters, the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Started work with the Travelers Insurance Compalny in Fort Worth, Texas in 1969. Moved to Houston, Texas and opened Vecellio Insurance Agency, Inc., which is a full service Independent Insurance Agency.
Married to Pat, have two married sons and five grandchildren. One son Chris is in Houston with two girls and our other son, Andrew lives in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has two boys and one girl.

Laura attended Sacred Heart Grade School.
Bachelors in English,French/secondary education 7-12 from Morris Harvey College Masters in Counseling from West Virginia College of Graduate Studies (COGS). English/French teacher, high school counselor for the past twenty two years at Sissonville High.
Widow of Randy Bowles; three children - a daughter and two sons (one son passed away in 2002).
I retired from counseling June, 2007, and enjoy having more time at home. I enjoy water aerobics, reading, and am on a few committees at church. My favorite vacations have been to Disney World with my family. Hopefully we will have many classmates at our fiftieth!!! No class can match our friendships and closeness!!!
